MJ Insurance expands Phoenix staff

MJ Insurance, one of the nation’s largest privately-held insurance agencies with more than five decades of success, has added two new team members to its Phoenix office, Brianne Carrillo and Amanda Schnettler.

Carrillo joins MJ Insurance as a risk transfer specialist, responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and support to risk management clientele. Owning the marketing process, she’ll be working directly with risk analysis and client advocacy teams to create and execute risk management strategies and insurance programming.

Carrillo comes to the team with more than 11 years of experience in the insurance industry, most recently working as an executive account specialist at Charles James Cayias Insurance in Salt Lake City. In this role, she was accountable for selling, managing and marketing new and existing accounts and handling contract negotiations with insurance carriers on an exclusive insurance program.

Schnettler joins the team as a client advocate, responsible for handling the day-to-day needs of risk management and personal insurance clientele while providing world-class customer service and risk transfer team support.

Previously, Schnettler worked as an insurance agent at O’Brien Insurance where she was responsible for field underwriting, risk management, issuing certificates of insurance, billing, processing account changes and endorsement requests. Most recently, she served as the director of business development at Spence, Cassidy & Associates where she led all marketing initiatives including creating branding, designing material for print advertising, social media, electronic communications, webinars, recruiting and organizing special events.

Lockton Retirement Services is now in Phoenix

Lockton expanded its retirement consulting practice with the addition of three new advisors in Phoenix.  New senior vice president, Sally Johnson, along with assistant vice presidents Andrea Donaldson and Patricia Duarte, joined the organization from WealthPlan Advisors, an investment and retirement plan consulting firm based in Scottsdale, Az.

The group collectively brings nearly a half century of retirement experience to Lockton.  In addition to their work advising employers on the design, investment due diligence and communication of retirement benefits, all three women have also worked for plan recordkeepers, giving them extensive knowledge of administration practices.

“Retirement is one of the fastest growing parts of Lockton’s business,” says Dan Nemmers, Denver-based executive vice president, producer and leader of Lockton’s Mountain West Retirement practice.  “Our staff has to grow just as fast.  In Arizona, we are thrilled to bring on board three advisors with the kind of deep expertise the industry has come to expect from Lockton.”

“We’ve been actively building our Retirement Services business across the country,” says Retirement Services president, Pam Popp.  “Expanding into the southwest and complementing a strong Arizona-based Executive Benefits team provides our clients and prospects with access to unparalleled expertise.”

“I’m particularly pleased to bring on such a strong group of advisors,” she adds.  “At Lockton, we’re committed to a diverse and inclusive culture.  The addition of Sally, Andrea and Patricia to the team builds on that tradition and adds to our growing roster of tremendous female leaders.”

Lockton’s retirement practice advises more than 1,200 plans, representing more than $60 billion in assets.
