Principal at Tower Capital joins Forbes Real Estate Council

Adam Finkel, Principal at Tower Capital, a leading commercial real estate structured finance company, has been accepted into Forbes Real Estate Council, an invitation-only community for executives in the real estate industry.

Mr. Finkel was vetted and selected by a review committee based on the depth and diversity of his experience. Criteria for acceptance include a track record of successfully impacting business growth metrics, as well as personal and professional achievements and honors.

VMI announces 2 new executives

Vantage Mobility International (VMI), a leading manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vehicles, announced the addition of two executives. Jeff Payne has accepted the role of Chief Finance Officer, and Todd Navarrete has accepted the position of Vice President of Sales Effectiveness.

As CFO, Jeff Payne will be responsible for leading the finance team at VMI. He recently served as VP Finance/CFO for Comtech EF Data where he worked across departments to set new pricing models, finance arrangements and sales compensation plans that pushed top line improvement by 35% in just two years. Prior to that, Payne served as the North American Controller/CFO for Radiall USA, Inc., a global publicly traded manufacturing company.

VMI also announced Todd Navarrete has accepted the position of Vice President of Sales Effectiveness. He has been in the mobility industry for more than a decade, working with one of the largest mobility dealerships in the country in both sales and strategic development roles. Navarrete is well-known in the mobility industry, and his knowledge positions him well to spearhead dealer sales effectiveness programs and performance at VMI. He will also be responsible for formulating sales strategies and initiatives to help mobility dealers deliver exceptional customer experience to mobility vehicle shoppers.

Eric Perlman joins MacQueen & Gottlieb

MacQueen & Gottlieb, PLC (M&G), one of the top real estate law firms in Arizona, has added Eric Perlman to its attorney roster. Perlman, the firm’s sixth attorney, will focus on the real estate and civil litigation practice areas.

Perlman graduated from the Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona in May 2015 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business management with an International Business certificate from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in 2011.

He comes to MacQueen & Gottlieb from the PetSmart SSG corporate office where he served as a brand risk investigator. Prior to that he was an associate attorney at the Phoenix firm Evans Dukarich LLP and held a legal internship in the Clark County Public Defender’s Office in Las Vegas.

Barrow Neurological Foundation welcome marketing directors

Barrow Neurological Foundation welcomes Stacy Bertinelli and Melinda Langdon as new directors of marketing. Bertinelli leads the development of strategies and planning related to marketing and communications for the foundation, while Langdon oversees the marketing and communications strategy for the Ivy Brain Tumor Center. The center is funded through a generous gift from the Ben and Catherine Ivy Foundation in coordination with a grant from the Barrow Neurological Foundation. Both directors work to assist donors in providing the means necessary for the world’s leading specialists at Barrow Neurological Institute to save lives.

Stacy Bertinelli joined Barrow Neurological Foundation as the director of marketing and communications where she leads a team of specialists in annual giving, communications and events. Her goal is to build compelling campaigns and engaging messaging to inspire donors at the foundation. Bertinelli has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and has held roles in journalism, sales and marketing in the past. Prior to joining the foundation, Bertinelli was the director of marketing at TGen, the Translational Genomics Research Institute, where she launched a redesign of the organization’s digital assets and created the new TGen Talks podcast. She received her bachelor of arts in American History and English Language Literature from Texas A&M University. 

Prior to joining the Ivy Brain Tumor Center, Melinda Langdon worked at a full-service advertising agency where she was the lead account manager on the Barrow Health & Wealth Raffle campaign. She managed the production and implementation of 11 integrated campaigns raising more than $7.5 million for Barrow. Langdon is an accomplished senior marketing professional with more than eight years of experience leading cross-functional teams and producing results for clients across the nonprofit, healthcare and technology sectors. She received her bachelor of science in Advertising and Public Relations and minor in Visual Communications from Northern Arizona University.

Barrow welcomes 4 new trustees

Barrow Neurological Foundation has announced the appointment of four new members to its Board of Trustees: Richard “Todd” Davis, Cheryl Najafi, Stacy L. Tucker and David S. Van Denburgh. Members of the board of trustees provide governance over the Barrow Neurological Foundation. The foundation is the catalyst of its donors’ passion for transformation by providing the resources for the world’s leading specialists at Barrow Neurological Institute to save lives.

His efforts have been recognized with numerous regional and national business, consumer and leadership awards, including: 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Orange County/Desert Cities region for a Top Emerging Company, CRM Magazine’s Service Elite Award, The Arizona Business Leadership Association’s Leadership Award and Arizona Business Journal’s 25 Most Admired CEOs in 2009.

Cheryl Najafi is a New York Times bestselling author, speaker, and entrepreneur.  In 2010 she founded the leading food recipe website, EverydayDishes.com.  In 2017 Najafi founded The Cause Collection, a socially responsible online clothing company that supports nonprofits who fight for tolerance, humanitarianism and social justice.  As a part of the shopping process, every customer is encouraged to use their purchasing power to advocate for the cause of their choosing.   In addition to funds contributed from the customer’s purchasing power, The Cause Collection also makes quarterly contributions straight from its working capital to directly support its nonprofit partners. 

Stacy L. Tucker is the vice president and chief financial officer of the Flinn Foundation. She has extensive experience in foundation investments, grants administration, accounting, budgeting, internal controls and employee benefits. Tucker oversees the investment portfolio, annual financial statements and tax returns, legal matters, building operations, information technology and technical assistance to grantees at the Flinn Foundation.

David S. Van Denburgh is chairman and chief executive officer of American Fence Company, Inc. David is active in the Young Presidents Organization and served three terms as a Phoenix Economics Commissioner. He is a married father of six adult children and is an Arizona native. Van Denburgh is an avid skier and hiker and has traveled the world in that pursuit.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties releases sales results

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties, a leading statewide residential real estate firm, released its annual sales results today. In 2018, the company completed $5.2 billion in total sales volume, a 7.6 percent increase over its 2017 sales volume of $4.85 billion. The firm recognized its 2018 achievements at its annual awards ceremony today at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.

Sterling Elite Properties Group was also named the No. 1 team in Arizona, completing nearly $54 million in sales volume, with The Chandler Ocotillo Group taking the No. 2 ranking.
