Gammage & Burnham expands into employment law

Gammage & Burnham PLC is pleased to announce today that the full-service business law firm will now also offer a dedicated practice group for Employment Law services. The firm was founded in Arizona in 1983 with a focus on Real Estate, Zoning, and Health Care, and since has built a reputation as a leader in other business law practices. Joining the other experienced attorneys at Gammage & Burnham during this expansion are Julie A. Pace, David A. Selden, and Heidi Nunn-Gilman, who have been working as a team for over fifteen years.

Pace, who has been described as the “go-to” lawyer for employer immigration and I-9 compliance by Arizona Business magazine, believes that joining Gammage & Burnham is a perfect fit because “of the talent, resources and synergy offered by its expertise in corporate, business planning, real estate, litigation and construction law.” She continued, “We are delighted to be able to serve our clients with an expanded footprint of legal services and continue providing responsive and creative results.”

Selden, who has drafted most of the Arizona employment laws that have been enacted by the Arizona Legislature during the past 25 years, commented that “The reputation and prominence of Gammage & Burnham in public affairs and its reputation in legal circles is an excellent platform to enhance the representation of the Arizona business community in public policy and legal matters.” Selden has chaired or co-chaired the Arizona Chamber of Commerce workforce committee for 30 years, and he added “Teaming with the depth and breadth of talent at Gammage & Burnham offers enhanced opportunities to provide a favorable business climate in Arizona through the courts, administrative agencies, and the Legislature.”

Richard B. Kauffman named CEO of Holualoa Companies

Richard B. Kauffman has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Holualoa Companies effective December 1, 2019.

I. Michael Kasser will continue to guide Holualoa as Founder and Chairman of the company. “Rick’s leadership has been an integral part of Holualoa’s success, and his becoming CEO is a natural step forward for the company,” Kasser said.

Holualoa was founded by Kasser in Hawaii 35 years ago. The company expanded to the Southwest in the Resolution Trust Corporation days with a Tucson office.  The company continued to grow by opening offices in Phoenix, Arizona and Santa Monica, California. Further expansion led Holualoa to partnerships in Washington, DC and Paris, France.

“Holualoa Companies has grown over the years, and we are well positioned to continue our momentum into the future as we acquire and develop new properties in a number of markets across North America and Europe,” Kasser said. “This change is part of a leadership succession plan developed several years ago.”
