The Salvation Army Southwest Division, headquartered in Phoenix, said good-bye to former leaders Lt. Colonels Joe and Shawn Posillico, who officially retired from leadership on December 31, 2016.

After serving 45 years, Lt. Col. Joe and Shawn will be remembered for their hard work and tireless dedication to the mission of The Salvation Army.

“It has been a privilege to work with The Salvation Army for so many years, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities Shawn and I had to serve this community alongside so many talented staff, generous donors and thoughtful volunteers,” said Lt. Col. Joe Posillico.

The Salvation Army welcomed Lt. Colonel Kelly Pontsler to the Southwest Division on January 1, 2017 as the new Divisional Commander and leader of the Army’s operations in Arizona, New Mexico and Southern Nevada.

“The Posillicos guided us with strategic leadership, brave innovation, unquestionable integrity, and unwavering commitment to our communities,” said Lt. Colonel Pontsler. “It is an honor to be appointed the new Divisional Commander for the Southwest Division of the Salvation Army and I look forward to leading the division with this legacy of excellence. I am certain we are well positioned for future success in the years to come.”
