Scottsdale-based Desert Troon Companies has commenced construction on the final phase of the 125,000 SF Watson Marketplace at the SEC of Watson Rd. and I-10 in Buckeye.
The new retail space will be open in the fall. New tenants, Federico’s, Buckeye Nail & Spa and The UPS Store, will be the first to open in the new phase. Tenants in the prior phases of the project have been very successful.
Desert Troon is the developer of the project and continues to be an active retail developer in Metro Phoenix, delivering 11 retail buildings totaling 82,000 SF in the past 24 months.
“We are very happy with the phasing and tenant success of Watson Marketplace. All of our tenants are doing extremely well,” said Matt Ladendorf, director of leasing for Desert Troon. “Our prime location on the freeway, combined with a cohesive tenant mix to serve the trade area, are key factors in the project’s success.”
GDC/RE has had the exclusive listing for the project since May 2009.
“The Buckeye area has been underserved for this kind of project, and we are happy to assist in bringing these retailers and services to the residents and businesses in the area,” said Joe Doucett, co-founder of GDC/RE.
The project brings jobs to the town of Buckeye, as well as new retail and restaurant options.
