David Shapiro Law, PLLC, a leading personal injury firm in Arizona, announced the Shapiro Safe Driving Giveaway. The giveaway will reward Valley drivers, ages 16 and up, with $1,000 in cash for practicing safe, distraction-free driving. A winning driver will be chosen every two weeks from September 4, 2020, through February 4, 2021.
During a year of challenges and economic struggles for thousands of Arizona residents, the Shapiro Safe Driving Giveaway gives back to those in need, while endeavoring to make the community safer.
“We’ve been educating young drivers and raising awareness about the dangers of distracted driving since the firm opened its doors,” said David Shapiro, owner of and injury attorney for David Shapiro Law. “The topic is at the heart of what we do, but with the crushing unemployment rate and the recent rise in eviction filings, we were compelled to alter our annual community outreach program.”
Each year, David Shapiro Law typically awards one or two college-bound drivers for ignoring their phone while behind the wheel. This is the first year the firm has opened its giveaway to all Arizona drivers 16 and older in the hopes of helping more people in need.
“One thousand dollars will cover groceries or the bills that month,” Shapiro continued. “It may not cover all of rent, but it can certainly help, and that’s all we hope for right now.”
Drivers interested in participating must enter at ShapiroSafeDriving.com where they will be directed to download the Motovate app, which monitors a driver’s phone usage while driving. For every mile driven without using their phone, participants will earn one entry in the giveaway. A winner will be drawn randomly, and it is possible for safe drivers to win more than once.
