The College of St. Scholastica’s administrative staff moved into new offices at 3550 N. Central Ave., #1020, Phoenix, 85012. Social work faculty already have office space at Mesa Community College (MCC) and at Phoenix College.
The new 2,300-square-foot office, in midtown Phoenix along the light rail, will house the College’s administrative team and nursing faculty as well as host student recruitment activities, student orientations, workshops, student advisement and other non-classroom functions throughout the year.
The College of St. Scholastica is a 104-year-old private Catholic Benedictine institution.
In addition to the new office, St. Scholastica recently began enrolling students for its first-ever spring cohort for social work students at MCC.
Enrollment in the College’s social work program reached an all-time high this fall with 41 students. St. Scholastica also has Arizona residents enrolled in its Doctorate of Nursing Program (DNP), Health Informatics and Information Management programs and Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
This year St. Scholastica will hold its first-ever graduation for College graduates in Arizona on May 15 at the MCC Theatre. The College, based in Minnesota, expanded to Phoenix in January 2014.
“Our new office serves as the ideal location for us to attract new students and programs while serving our existing students and partners,” said Maria Laughner, St. Scholastica’s Arizona regional director. “We plan on a continued growth curve in 2017 and our new location will fill a vital role as we accelerate our footprint in Arizona.”
Besides the new spring cohort, St. Scholastica is planning to conduct extensive community engagement to fulfill its mission to educate and prepare students for impactful careers and work in critical areas of need in the community including social work, health care and education.
