Maryvale Preparatory Academy, part of the Great Hearts Academies network of high-performing charter schools serving the Phoenix metropolitan area, was recently approved for a community investment loan for up to $3 million from CopperPoint Mutual Insurance Company.
The CopperPoint loan enables Maryvale Prep to carry out its plans to build a permanent and sizable campus home and to serve many more students within the Maryvale community. This strategic investment during Maryvale Prep’s start-up years also allows it to build ahead of student body growth and avoid patchwork solutions as it adds additional grade levels. The build-out, to be named CopperPoint Hall, will add 11 new classrooms to the existing, modest classroom space, creating one expansive and cohesive K-5 campus.

The CopperPoint Hall building at Maryvale Prep will serve the Maryvale community and graduate great-hearted young men and women for generations to come.”
Maryvale Prep currently offers grades K – 4 and serves a primarily Hispanic student population. Maryvale Prep will grow by one grade level each year until it offers a full K-12 program, and will graduate its first class in 2022. The school has a long-term lease (up to 40 years) from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Maryvale.
