A new bicycle share program in Phoenix is scheduled to be launched in December.
KTAR-FM reports that the city will unveil the program with 500 bikes and eventually will expand to 2,000.
Under the program, the bikes will be located at hub locations throughout the city and accessible to anyone who has a credit card.
Joseph Perez, the city’s traffic engineer and bike coordinator, says the program will improve transportation options for residents and help the environment.
The program is slated to start Dec. 16.
