Even Stevens Sandwiches, a craft-casual restaurant incorporating the buy-one-give-one model, has hit a major milestone: 2 million sandwiches donated in just under three and a half years of doing business. The brand, which operates 19 locations across five states, hit the 1 million sandwich mark in January 2017, and is closing the year with another million sandwiches donated.
Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, Even Stevens donates to 76 nonprofits in the states they serve, including Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho and Texas. Next month, Even Stevens will expand its generosity by opening its 20th location in Seattle, Washington. Partnering nonprofits say Even Stevens’ donations allow them to direct monetary resources towards programs that address the root causes of food insecurity – homelessness, disability, displacement and unemployment.
Every Even Stevens location will celebrate this monumental event by handing out commemorative pins, and engaging guests in conversation about their diverse range of non-profit partners which include food pantries, shelters for women and children, rescue missions, foundations for AIDS, and Boys & Girls Club, among others. Creating impact, says Even Stevens, is the most powerful way to gain community advocacy.
“The sandwich is represented in almost all cultures. From shwarmas to banh mi’s, everyone seems to put their spin on it. We believe a sandwich starts with perfect bread, ends with love, and everything in between is crafted to perfect,” added Chef Brandon Price.
