“We’re honored to accept this award for the seventh straight year. It signifies not only the sustained excellence of our organization but also the impressive growth of the market we serve,” said Chris Camacho, GPEC President and CEO. “Our focus on collaboration has been the driving force behind our achievements. Together with our 22 member communities, Maricopa County, and over 200 investors, we have stimulated continued investment in our region, created job opportunities, fostered innovation, and brought about positive changes to the community. We take immense pride in representing this market and are committed to playing an active role in building a brighter future for all.”

The 2023 Mac Conway Award winners are selected based on the index of corporate facility investment, as tracked by Site Selection’s Conway Projects database. Scores are awarded based on six criteria: total projects, total investment and total jobs associated with those projects. Three more criteria are per capita versions of those same metrics.

In Site Selection’s May 2007 issue, GPEC was named an “Honorable Mention North American Groups of 2006” in the “Top Economic Development Groups in America.” GPEC was named a Top EDO by Site Selection for the first time in 2016, when the award was renamed from “Top Economic Development Groups in America” to “Mac Conway Award for Excellence in Economic Development.”
