The Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) will be hosting a free Healthcare Forum, educating business owners on the changing landscape of health insurance and the impact on individuals and small businesses.

Recently merged, Banner Health and Aetna will be sponsoring the event, bringing ASBA members and guests hot topics in the healthcare world.  With Aetna’s 380,000 commercial members and Banner Health’s Network of over 900 primary care physicians, 5,800 specialists, and access to more than 125 urgent care centers, 14 hospitals, 9 health centers, and 11 emergency centers solely in the metro Phoenix area, the two combined are bringing a complete game changer to the healthcare industry for businesses.

Integrating Aetna’s consumer engagement tools with Banner’s expertise in care management, the two will be creating a new joint venture health plan with commercial products ready as early as January 1st.  This will bring commercial groups as small as 2 employees better delivery and services as well as lower rates.

“We look forward to our Healthcare Forum every year,” states ASBA President & CEO Jack Lunsford.  “Not only is the event always a great turnout, but what is really important is the crucial information we provide to our members and guests.  Healthcare has always been a difficult component of the small business world.  This annual event is ASBA’s way of keeping our members up to date and aware of the changes each year.”

ASBA’s Healthcare Forum will focus on migration to value based contracting, regulatory updates, updates on the individual marketplace, what all small businesses need to know, a perspective from a small group broker, and why the new company, Banner/Aetna, was formed and goals they have in this market supporting consumers and businesses.  Both employers and employees are encouraged to attend to learn about how this year’s presidential election and the merge between Banner and Aetna will affect their healthcare for 2017.  Space is limited.
