Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Mesa Pediatrics Professional Association announced Mesa Pediatrics and its four locations across the Phoenix East Valley joined Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics. The collaboration brings together providers from two of Arizona’s original pediatric institutions. Mesa Pediatrics was the first pediatric practice established in the East Valley with a board-certified pediatrician, and Phoenix Children’s is the first and only standalone children’s hospital in Arizona.

“Mesa Pediatrics is a very established, trusted partner in the East Valley,” said Bob Meyer, President and CEO of Phoenix Children’s. “This partnership furthers our common mission to provide the highest quality, and most comprehensive care to the children and families living in this area.”

Mesa Pediatrics was founded by Dr. John Kerr in 1954, and serves the East Valley with offices in Chandler, Tempe, north Gilbert and south Gilbert. The association has a total of 88 employees including, 18 physicians, seven advanced practice providers, and 63 staff members who have now joined the Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics team.

“The opportunity to join Phoenix Children’s team made perfect sense,” said Susan S. Chung, MD, Medical Director of Phoenix Children’s Mesa Pediatrics. “Our staff is proud to be part of a pediatric institution with an outstanding reputation. We know working with Phoenix Children’s will only allow us to better serve our patient families whom we’re privileged to serve.”

Mesa Pediatrics has been a provider group within Phoenix Children’s Care Network (PCCN) since the network’s inception in 2014. A physician-led clinically integrated network, PCCN encompasses more than 1,000 Arizona primary care and specialty providers, and is the largest of its kind in the state. As part of Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics, Mesa Pediatrics will continue to be part of PCCN.
