Dr. Khai Ling Tan, of MomDoc Women For Women, is one of twelve surgeons who perform minimally invasive gynecological procedures to qualify for recognition in excellence in care. The surgeons completed a stringent evaluation process to show they meet established program requirements for providing safe gynecologic care with exceptional short and long term outcomes.
The surgeons distinguished themselves as part of Scottsdale Healthcare’s minimally invasive surgical gynecology program, the first in Arizona to be named a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the leading association of minimally invasive gynecological surgeons.

The goal of minimally invasive surgery is to reduce patient hospital stays, perform less painful surgeries and have decreased side effects over traditional open-incision surgery. This designation affirms not only evidence based care but the value and safety of minimally invasive procedures.
Scottsdale Healthcare met all ten specific requirements to earn the designation. The select obstetrics and gynecology specialists, Tan amongst them, met all physician requirements. It is an indicator that not only the hospital, but its surgeons are amongst the best in their specialties.
For both the hospital and surgeons it demonstrates consistency and high quality in care and outcomes. It reinforces the belief that instead of focusing on one single aspect of care, the entire system is in a position to deliver the very highest level of care to patients.
