The Boeing Company has awarded Goodwill of Central Arizona with a $25,000 grant for a program that that will serve 200 veterans by providing much needed job preparation skills to help them find civilian jobs.  Through the program, Goodwill anticipates serving and helping place 80 job seekers in gainful employment.

“We’re extremely grateful for Boeing’s support,” said Kimberly Hall, director of community experience. “We’ll be able to provide veterans with career coaching, resume development, mock interviews, job leads, as well as small group workshops.  We’re looking forward to helping them re-enter the civilian workforce.”

Goodwill’s new program geared towards veterans began Nov. 1, 2015. They expect the program will decrease veteran unemployment and result in high wage jobs or careers and increase their understanding of what civilian employers want in employees.

“Supporting veterans is a priority for Boeing,” said Boeing Arizona Community Investor Mary Baldwin. “The company and its employees contributed to 700 military focused events, programs and organizations in 2014, and give about $10 million annually to military and veterans’ organizations and efforts.”
