In a dreary economy, any job might seem like a good fit but many careers (i.e.: IT) require specific skills. The career experts at Computer Systems Institute did some digging and found interesting stats on reasons career-specific training makes you the best hire.
For instance, they found:
• 43% of people with licenses or certifications earn more than people with associate degrees.
• 63% of employers say recent grads need to “research the industry more thoroughly” to improve candidacy.
• 40% of business employers prefer experience over academic record.
Many of these fields are competitive and for those looking to break in or get ahead of the curve, how do you best demonstrate your leadership? How can you make yourself stand out?
