Recapping a year of strong results, the Arizona Technology Council has issued an inaugural annual report detailing its role as the state’s voice for technology and the driving force behind the effort to make Arizona the fastest growing tech hub in the nation. The full report can be viewed or downloaded at www.aztechcouncil.org.

“This report crystalizes how strategic elements that we have honed for years contribute to a healthy, vibrant technology sector throughout Arizona and around the world,” said Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council. “Fueled by a passion for technology, we are leading the effort to meet the future needs of the industry through the development of technical talent, increased access to risk capital, the support of a healthy ecosystem and connectivity across all constituents.”

The Council’s strategy is grounded in the belief that the future of technology in Arizona is based on the industry’s ability be future-ready. The report clearly states the progress the Council has made as it delivers on what members expect from their association: industry leadership that connects, empowers and grows Arizona’s technology community.

The report details the Council’s strongest financial performance to date, with the net addition of more than 80 new members in 2014. Two new Business Essentials platforms also were introduced: a pooled-risk, self-insured medical insurance program, and a 401(k) retirement plan for all member companies. In addition, the year was marked by the Council’s stand against Senate Bill 1062 as it assembled 120 CEOs to sign a letter to the governor successfully petitioning for the bill’s veto—an effort recognized with three leadership awards. These and numerous other accomplishments outlined in the document are being leveraged to capitalize on the unique position the Council has created and deliver even more value to its members and the technology industry at-large in years to come.
