Tyler Carrell - HeadshotThe law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy today announced that Tyler J. Carrell has begun serving his year-long term as president of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Maricopa County Bar Association (MCBA).
Mr. Carrell is one of the youngest attorneys ever to serve as president of YLD. He previously served as president-elect, as treasurer and has been an active member of the organization since 2010. The Young Lawyers Division of the MCBA is a professional service organization focused on community service and targeted initiatives to meet the needs of young and new lawyers. Members of the YLD are lawyers who are under 37 years old, or have been in practice for five years or less.
“The YLD is a highly energized group of young lawyers who enjoy the camaraderie of working together to enrich our profession and the community through initiatives like the Race Judicata, the Barrister’s Ball and the annual Necessities Drive,” said Carrell. Working in collaboration with the YLD Board of Directors and regular members, he expects the organization to introduce new programming this year.
In addition to his role on the Maricopa County Bar Association YLD, Mr. Carrell is also the current president-elect of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Arizona. In June 2015, he will become the first attorney in state history to serve as president of the YLD for both the State Bar of Arizona and the Maricopa County Bar Association.
Mr. Carrell is an associate practicing in the areas general commercial litigation, corporate restructuring and real estate. Mr. Carrell is recognized as a Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Star and is also a member of the University of Arizona Alumni Association, the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations and the Brophy Alumni Association. Mr. Carrell earned his J.D. in 2010 from Arizona State University and his B.S. in 2006 from the University of Arizona.
