The James Agency (TJA), a Scottsdale-based full-service advertising, public relations and digital firm, has been selected as the agency of record for Mountain Shadows, the highly anticipated $100 million luxury resort coming to Paradise Valley.

TJA is also representing two new Marriott International lifestyle hotels, Moxy Tempe and AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown.

“Since opening the doors of The James Agency, we’ve specialized in working with hospitality and lifestyle brands,” said Veronique James, CEO of The James Agency. “We’re grateful to have been selected by Mountain Shadows and Marriott to introduce such unique concepts to the Phoenix market.”

Mountain Shadows, the Paradise Valley project by Westroc Hospitality and Woodbine Development slated to open in early 2017, has retained TJA as its agency of record to handle creative services, media buying, website design, video production, public relations and social media. TJA has a long-standing relationship with Hotel Valley Ho, also managed by Westroc Hospitality. The agency has represented the mid-century modern boutique hotel for the past eight years, providing creative services, advertising, website design, traditional media buying and digital media services.

“With a successful track record and long-standing partnership between Hotel Valley Ho and The James Agency, the selection for an agency of record for the latest Westroc Hospitality and Woodbine Development project was clear,” said Jesse Thompson, area director of marketing for both Hotel Valley Ho and Mountain Shadows. “We are excited to launch the most anticipated resort project in the last decade, Mountain Shadows, with our agency partner The James Agency.”

Moxy Tempe, which opened in March, is the first Moxy Hotel to open in the United States, following the brand’s 2014 debut in Milan. AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown, scheduled to open June 8, will be the AC brand’s first location in the western U.S. and the first hotel to be located on Tempe Town Lake. TJA is the local PR agency of record for both properties, handling each hotel’s grand openings, ongoing PR efforts and social media.

“Simultaneously opening a new hotel while launching Marriott’s newest brand required a collaborative, creative, dedicated and knowledgeable group,” said David Wani, CEO of Twenty Four Seven Hotels, the management company behind Moxy Tempe. “The James Agency exceeded our expectations on all fronts by developing and implementing an extremely successful PR and social media campaign, which has quickly made Moxy Tempe the talk of the town.”

Founded in 2005 by Veronique James as a one-woman shop, TJA has grown to 28 employees and anticipates additional growth in 2016.
