Santy has acquired Los Angeles-based S+L Communications, a public relations agency with three decades of niche specialization in the fashion, action sports and outdoor industries.
With the acquisition, S+L Communications becomes S+L PR, A Santy Company and taps into the digital prowess of the 20-year-old full service marketing agency, which is based in Scottsdale.
Founded in 1988 by partners Karen Schneider and Staci Levine, S+L PR brings to Santy public relations expertise and an impressive list of current and past clients that includes such brands as Vans, Lucky Brand, Blundstone, Etnies, G-Shock, Guess Activewear, Peoples Liberation and Zappos to name a few.
“We’ve been eyeing the fashion, footwear and action sports industries for some time, knowing that our expertise in marketing to millennials offers incredible value,” Dan Santy said. “This acquisition gives us an opportunity to shine in new industries, and attract the attention of brands that are underrepresented in the digital marketing space.”
Santy has the ability to uncover undiscovered insights and execute strategic campaigns that continuously improve their clients’ business. The result has been steady growth and an impressive roster that includes locally-known brands like China Mist Tea, Paradise Bakery and Peter Piper Pizza – as well as other nationally known brands such as Harvest Snaps, Chevy’s, Delta, PeiWei, Pocky, and Bona Floor Care Solutions, among others.
The acquisition of S+L PR brings Santy’s total employment to 45, representing phenomenal growth of 400 percent since 2012. Santy’s success illustrates the strong economic future in the digital marketing space, and the visionary approach of longtime advertising executive Dan Santy.
“Brands need a strong social media presence to stay competitive and relevant in today’s world, and Santy’s talented team can help us get them there,” Schneider said. “We’re excited to see our clients benefit from their digital and mobile expertise.”
“Further, our agencies share an intrinsic company culture and have many of the same core values as Santy so our coming together was very natural,” Levine said.
