Xcellerate, a Phoenix-based consulting firm committed to helping startup companies turn research into revenue announced its new role as the managing partner of BrandLab Studios. BrandLab Studios is a newly re-branded 34,000 square-foot creative space located at 3125 S. 52nd St., Tempe, Ariz.

“We are thrilled to be the managing partner of BrandLab Studios,” said Ben Smith, chief executive officer of Xcellerate. “The space serves as a creative hub with limitless possibilities for creatives and we look forward to the opportunities it will bring to the Valley.”

Smith is a veteran when it comes to building brands and venue management, having launched Unexpected, a downtown Phoenix art gallery, in February 2014 where he built out and grew the gallery from 2014 to 2017. He is also a seasoned entrepreneur and advertising executive with nearly three decades of experience helping in creating, growing and marketing global brands such as LifeLock, Massage Envy and more.

BrandLab Studios will truly be a hub for creativity, community, and innovation. The venue has the capacity to host events with guests ranging from 10 to 400 and is filled with several classrooms, breakout and conference rooms for business events, creative spaces for zen and wellness centric gatherings, as well as large open areas for concerts, weddings, large parties and more. It’s conducive to creativity for ad agencies, photographers, videographers, producers, and filmmakers, musicians and dancers, as there are recording and podcast studios, a dance studio, 40-foot green and white screen studios, all offering opportunities for collaboration on projects.

Formerly known as 3125 Studios, BrandLab Studios building is owned by Steve Wilkinson, who originally purchased the space in 1990. It started out as an industrial warehouse that has evolved over the years into the sustainable creative space it is today.

“I am pleased to have BrandLab Studios under the direction of Ben and Xcellerate,” said Wilkinson. “With their imagination and innovation, I look forward to watching the space evolve into the Valley’s go-to hub for creatives.”
