Advice to younger self: “Trust your instincts and don’t be afraid to take up space. Early in my career, I often second-guessed myself, unsure of my skill set compared to my much more experienced teammates. I’d tell her to speak up with confidence, build genuine relationships, and remember that leadership is as much about resilience and authenticity as it is about ambition. The best opportunities often come from stepping outside your comfort zone — whether in business or service — and the journey is richest when it lifts others along the way.”
Surprising fact: “Most people don’t know I started college at Vanderbilt University on a pre-med track, fully planning to become a doctor. After separating from the family business for school, I quickly realized that architecture and residential construction were my passion. I’m so glad to be nurturing and building forward the next 40 years of our family company, Cullum Homes. Instead of treating patients, I channel that energy into the design and build process — creating luxury custom homes alongside my family and our team. It’s been the most delightful and fulfilling plot twist of my life.”
