After receiving a record number of nominations, 50 companies have risen from the adversity of the past couple years and earned the right to call themselves Arizona’s Most Admired Companies of 2022. The Most Admired Companies of 2022 includes Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona.

Arizona’s Most Admired Companies of 2022 will be celebrated at an awards dinner and ceremony from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Chateau Luxe, at 1175 E. Lone Cactus Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85024.

Top Arizona executive: Jason Barlow, president and CEO

What it does: Nonprofit homebuilder and home repairer for low-income families.

Admirable trait: This year, Habitat for Humanity International and 84 U.S. Habitat affiliate organizations received $436 million in unrestricted giving from author and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott. This transformational donation will substantially help further Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a comfortable home to live.

Innovation: Over the next three to four years, Habitat Central Arizona will use a portion of the donation to fundamentally increase the supply of affordable housing and to prioritize advocacy and efforts that support the millions of individuals increasingly shut out of housing. While the organization puts Scott’s donation to good use, Habitat Central Arizona also has its eye on innovation. With a goal of building more economically, efficiently and sustainably, Habitat recently completed building its first 3D-printed home. In the fall of 2019, Habitat was approached by two ASU grads looking to bring 3D-printed construction technology to the Valley. A year later, Habitat’s construction team was off to Houston for training in additive manufacturing and learning a whole new lingo.
