Andi St John, managing director of property management, CBRE Arizona
BACKGROUND: Andi St John is the managing director of property management for CBRE in Arizona. She provides executive leadership over the region’s property management portfolio, which includes many high-profile assets. St John holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of North Dakota.
CAREER PATH INSPIRATION: “Fate brought me to property management through a temp agency I utilized after graduate school. I quickly found that I enjoyed the industry’s daily challenges and how my role could add value to tenants, clients, brokers and lenders. It seemed like a good fit because I enjoy helping others, solving puzzles and problems and teamwork.”
SOURCE OF PRIDE: “It was an honor to become the Arizona market leader for Property Management. Leading such a large, talented team is a privilege and is very rewarding. I also take pride in watching employees start their careers in property management and move through the ranks into roles like associate director and chief building engineer. I love when team members find a passion for our industry and enjoy it as much as I do!”
SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: “I can’t name one person because it’s truly been a village, including brokers, teammates, peers, senior leaders and clients. I’ve been fortunate to work with many talented and creative people and learn and gain so much from every relationship. With property management, there is always a new challenge or initiative, and the collaboration and support received help achieve successful outcomes and inspire me.”
SURPRISING FACT: “I’m a fan of horror movies (or thrillers) and roller coasters! When a friend is looking for a partner to watch a scary movie, I’m the one they call. I like the adrenaline rush from the suspenseful music and jump scares. I also love roller coasters and regularly take kids to amusement parks and fairs to share the fun of the rides. I feel that it keeps me young.”
