Linda Luman, executive vice president, Achieve

BACKGROUND: As executive vice president at Achieve, Linda Luman brings extensive experience leading people in fast-growing organizations with a passion for employee engagement. With expertise in building a great culture focusing on talent management, succession, learning and development — and with an emphasis DEI — she serves the community on local board of directors for Arizona Foundation for Women, Career Connectors and Rio Salado President’s Board.

CAREER PATH INSPIRATION: “At Achieve, I’m privileged to lead our People Strategy, which means building a great company through talent acquisition, learning and development, growth and retention, mentorship and beyond. Our people are our biggest differentiator and our teammates come to work with passion, empathy and innovation, all in service of our amazing members. Seeing the results of a talented engaged Achieve team has driven our 20 years of success.”

SOURCE OF PRIDE: “The most rewarding part of my career is when we identify great talent, provide the opportunities for their growth, and support those who take on challenges to improve themselves and the business. To see people grow and move up within Achieve, in such a unique employee-centric culture, brings me a sense of fulfillment and joy. I know we have succeeded when we celebrate quarterly anniversaries and the number of people growing great careers by moving up through the company keeps increasing.”

SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: “I worked for a wonderful chief human resources officer who saw potential in me and challenged me to what I thought was beyond my experience by assigning me to the most challenging, poor performing areas. I learned how to work through very difficult complex situations with a focus on leadership and resourcefulness. This experience gave me the confidence to proactively look for roles where I could leverage my strengths, experiences and the lessons I learned. This has ultimately led me to the role I’m in today and now I’m taking joy in mentoring others in the organization with the hopes that it will grow their confidence and inspire them to take on bigger challenges.”

SURPRISING FACT: “One little known fact is I am an avid DIY home remodeler and I love taking homes that need TLC and renovating them to become warm and beautiful places for families to call home. A loving caring family living in a home that provides so many wonderful family memories is a gift I enjoy providing to others.”
