Dr. Sarah Shell, Shell Medical Hormone Health & Wellness
Background: Dr. Shell is a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor and integrative primary care physician in Arizona. She received a pre-med bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Omaha-Nebraska. During her undergrad, she juggled a career as a professional mixed martial arts cage fighter and was always searching for ways to optimize her own health and performance. Pursuing medical school was a natural transition to become a clinical expert in health and hormone optimization for herself and others.
Source of pride: “Rather than a singular moment, my greatest professional pride lies in the consistent, ongoing ability to help my patients transform their health. Every time a patient comes back with improved labs, fewer medications, or a deeper understanding of their body, I know I’m fulfilling my mission. I’ve built a career around bridging the gap between complex medicine and everyday understanding—and watching people become confident advocates for their own health never stops being the most meaningful part of my work.”
Professional advice: “You don’t have to fit anyone else’s mold. As a mother of three, a physician, clinic owner, and professional athlete, I’ve learned that you truly can create a life that aligns with every piece of who you are. It takes grit, purpose, and the courage to believe in yourself when others don’t. The most important habit you can develop is speaking to yourself with strength and encouragement—your internal voice will either be your biggest cheerleader or your biggest barrier. Choose faith in yourself every time!
Surprising fact: “Most people are surprised to learn that in addition to being a full-time primary care physician, a clinic owner and mother to three young kids, I’m also a professional bareknuckle boxer for BKFC and ranked No. 2 in the world. My dream isn’t just to win a title—it’s to use that spotlight to promote real solutions to chronic disease and health disparities. I believe that when people see a physician winning world titles and still making time to advocate for patient health, it challenges the status quo and invites real change. That’s my mission.”
