Tricor is committed to building thriving communities and that commitment begins with helping people in need in every market the company serves. This holiday season, Tricor has launched a national Backpack Giving Program aimed at easing the burden of homelessness in Phoenix and across the U.S. one person at a time.

“Our construction teams often see the realities of homelessness in areas adjacent to our construction sites, so we wanted to develop a company program that allows our team to offer resources to those in need with backpacks containing essential items for personal hygiene, an emergency blanket, warm clothes, water and food,” said Travis Nuzman, Vice President of Construction for Tricor.

Inspired by the simple desire to create something that would make life on the streets a little easier, Tricor will launch a program with 50 backpacks that will first go out to those in need in the Tempe area between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. The company chose Tempe to launch the project because of the clear need for support and resources near its construction sites in the community.

Tricor will keep the backpacks in their construction trucks to be distributed directly to those in need. The program will first launch in the Phoenix metropolitan area, and will expand to communities surrounding the firm’s construction sites in  Texas, Florida and Georgia by early 2023.

“Tricor is passionate about community-building and we believe that people are the foundation of every community we serve,” Nuzman said. “Our goal is to be an intrinsic part of the neighborhoods in which we build and to us, that begins with being a good neighbor one person at a time,” he said.

The Scottsdale-based construction services firm is licensed to operate in 16 states across the U.S. as a builder focused on the single-family rental industry. The company specializes in build-to-rent and renovation properties, working in partnership with some of the largest institutional housing developers and investors in the country to modernize the rental housing market.

The program will be offered on an ongoing basis with an emphasis on making a direct impact to individuals experiencing urgent and immediate needs.

“We are proud to implement a program like this that empowers our team to make a difference for the people in need they often encounter on a daily basis,” Nuzman said.
