The REMI. Scottsdale, Autograph Collection announced the unveiling of The Flame, a striking, large-scale sculpture by renowned South African artist Daniel Popper. Known internationally for his visionary installations that explore the interconnectedness of nature and humanity, Popper brings his signature approach to Scottsdale with this new landmark, which the artist describes as “a tribute to the transformative power of authenticity.”

Crafted from glass fiber reinforced by concrete and brass, the 17-foot sculpture contemplates fire’s fierce power both to consume and renew. By day, its shifting form dances with light and perspective, echoing the flame’s fleeting nature and endless promise of transformation. As night falls, it glows softly – a radiant beacon of inspiration, renewal, and creativity, inviting all who encounter it to pause, connect, and reflect on who they are and who they are becoming.

Commissioned by Stockdale Capital Partners and Premium Point Development, in collaboration with Scottsdale Public Art and the City of Scottsdale’s Cultural Improvements Program, the installation was designed to become a gathering point for residents and visitors alike.
Daniel Popper’s transformative works include installations at Afrikaburn in South Africa, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, and Boom Festival in Portugal. His monumental sculptures often serve as gateways, stages, or totems, encouraging contemplation and a sense of connection with the environment.
