Sphinx Date Co., the iconic Valley producer of dates for decades, has released a unique line of date-based products including mild and green date salsas ($7.95), date hot sauce ($6.95) and date jam ($7.95).
These slightly-sweet and flavorful products are now available for purchase at Sphinx Date Co., Palm & Pantry located at 3039 North Scottsdale Road or online at www.sphinxdateco.com.
This “date line” is one of the only specialty food product lines made with Medjool dates in the United States.
Sphinx Date Co., is owned by mother and daughter duo, Sharyn and Rebecca Seitz and has undergone extensive interior renovations as well us updates to their overall branding, packaging and product offerings. Creating a line of specialty date based salsas, hot sauces and jams was a natural progression for the Seitzes.
“We are huge supporters of local products and it made great sense to incorporate our locally grown dates into salsas, jams and hot sauce. The reaction to the date line has been all positive and we look forward to sharing the products with new customers,” said Rebecca Seitz.
Longtime Scottsdale residents, the Seitzes purchased Sphinx Date Co. in 2012 and have spent the past two years updating and refreshing the landmark. Sphinx Date Co. processes and sells locally grown Medjool and Sphinx Dates as well as other dried fruits, nuts, locally curated products, Arizona wine and beer and of course, patrons can enjoy their famous date shakes all year round.
