Cox Communications announced that said it will continue its commitment to customers by doubling the speeds on two of its most popular packages of Internet service for all customers this year. These speed increases will make multiple devices running simultaneously in the home a quicker experience.
* Cox High Speed Internet Preferred level will increase from 25 megabits per second to 50 megabits per second.
* Cox High Speed Internet Premier level will increase from 50 megabits per second to 100 megabits per second.
These packages represent more than 70 percent of Cox’s high-speed Internet customers. The new speeds will automatically go into effect beginning Monday, completed by July 31. Customers do not have to take any action and this action does not require any change in rate/cost.
With speeds as fast as 150Mbps, Cox is continuing to provide its customers the fastest speeds in Arizona. The increased speeds come on the heels of the company’s announced plans to offer gigabit speeds beginning in Phoenix this fall, and to all Cox customers nationwide by 2017 is a core part of our product roadmap. Cox has always been and will continue to be committed to delivering customers enhanced and evolving services.
“This increase marks our continuing commitment to providing customers the fastest speeds available in the state, while responding to their needs for more speed and bandwidth allowances without a change in their current rate,” stated Steve Rizley, Sr. Vice President/General Manager, Cox Communication Southwest. “We know this is especially important in today’s world where more and more devices are connected through their WiFi network throughout their home. And we will continue to invest in our network to bring our customers the best online experience possible.”
