Virtuous Softwarea pioneering nonprofit CRM software, today announced it has raised $1.5 million in its latest funding round, bringing the total raised to $2.2 million since 2015. The round was led by Access Ventures.

The capital will be used to launch key new relationship automation features and increase the company’s marketing and sales efforts, allowing the company to accelerate its mission of helping charities build better relationships with donors and do more good in the world.

“A staggering number of nonprofits have been handcuffed to antiquated and confusing donor management tools that treat donors as transactions,” said Gabe Cooper, CEO of Virtuous Software. “Virtuous is being enthusiastically embraced by nonprofits because our software introduces data-driven, relationship intelligence and tools that are easy-to-use for everyone at the organization. We have  onboarded over 250 users in the last year and are on track to surpass all of our goals for 2016.”

Virtuous Software was created in 2014 to help charitable organizations leverage software to grow generosity, inspire action, and create personal connections with supporters and communities. The Virtuous CRM delivers a virtual command center where nonprofits can finally tailor their messages to individual donors, track donors by their passions or geographic location, and even use big data analytics to see which relationships need more attention. The software offers intuitive reporting and dashboards, notifications and reminders, robust gift tracking, giver persona management and more, all with easy functionality and elegant design.

“Excluding Virtuous Software, there are not many innovators driving nonprofit CRM growth despite the fact there are more than 1.5 million charities in the United States, many of which are clamoring for this type of software,” said TJ Abood, Director of Investments with Access Ventures. “It is part of Access Ventures’ larger investment goals to find promising technologies designed for social good. Virtuous is a perfect market fit, enabling nonprofits of all sizes to focus on what they do best without being held back by outdated technology.”
