As Interim CEO, Maynard will lead GPEC’s strategy execution and guide investor and community engagement while the search committee completes its executive search process following a competitive application period.
Maynard has been a key member of GPEC since August 2013. In his regular position as Senior Vice President, Business Development, he co-leads the organization’s business development strategy, oversees international investment attraction and fosters cross-functional collaboration. Over his tenure, Maynard has worked with hundreds of companies vetting Greater Phoenix for growth and expansion, ranging from Fortune 500 firms to startups.
“Through his sophisticated, consultative approach to business development, Thomas has been key in some of the most high-impact projects across Greater Phoenix in the last decade, helping put the region on the global map,” said Derrick Hall, Chair of GPEC’s Board of Directors and President and CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks. “His deep knowledge of GPEC and the region makes him the ideal choice to guide the organization and its network of community and business leaders during this important transition.”
“GPEC’s strength is in its collaborative model and the dedication of our partners across the region,” said Maynard. “I’m proud to serve in this interim capacity and am committed to ensuring a smooth transition while advancing our impactful work that drives opportunity and innovation across Greater Phoenix.”
