2. I-40
I-40 is an east-west highway in Arizona that stretches a distance of 359.11 miles. I-40 had 30 total fatalities and 26 crashes. While these totals were substantially lower than the tallies on the I-10, they’re still too high.
3. US-60
An east-west U.S. Highway in the state, US-60 runs for 369 miles. There were 27 deaths and 24 crashes.
4. I-17
I-17 is another stretch of roadway that has had its fair share of vehicle mishaps. According to one source, the I-17 Improvement Project is underway and will continue until next year. It will include widening a 15-mile stretch of roadway, replacing two bridges, widening 10 bridges, and making about eight miles of flex lanes. There were 17 crashes and 22 total deaths on the I-17.
5. SR-87
SR-87 stretches 272.66 miles. As for the crashes and deaths, they were similar to the totals for the I-17. Specifically, accidents and fatalities on the SR-87 were 16 and 21.
