Vantage Mobility International (VMI), a leading manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vehicles, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Revability, a division of specialty vehicle manufacturer REV Group, Inc. (NYSE: REVG). Revability designs and manufactures wheelchair accessible vehicles for commercial and personal use, giving VMI a more diversified product line to offer to the mobility industry.
VMI will continue to operate Revability’s manufacturing plant located in Clarkston, Michigan under the Revability name and will transition the remaining mobility manufacturing to VMI’s plant in Phoenix, AZ. This move aligns with the company’s commitment to support the growth of its retail dealers. By expanding its product portfolio, VMI will enable dealers to offer more choices to consumers with accessible transportation needs. This move also supports VMI’s growth in the commercial market space.

The acquisition of Revability is the latest action in VMI’s plan to expand its product line to serve a wider range of customers seeking vehicles for personal and commercial use. In October 2017, VMI purchased AMS Vans, Inc., an Atlanta company providing economy priced wheelchair accessible van conversions for consumers.

VMI’s expanded product line now offers more retail and commercial vehicle options in side and rear-entry conversions on Chrysler Pacifica, Toyota Sienna, Dodge Grand Caravan and Honda Pilot chassis, as well as platform lifts and ramps on Ram Promaster and Ford Transit full-size vans. With the addition of Revability, customers now have even greater choices in ADA compliant vehicles, flexible seating for multiple wheelchairs, power or manual ramps, and in-floor or fold-out ramp systems.
