The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation has recognized U.S. Bank with a perfect score of 100 percent in its 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The index is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality.
“We believe in putting people first, and our dedication to making ethical decisions and doing the right thing is at the heart of what we do,” said Richard Davis, chairman, president and chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp, parent company of U.S. Bank. “No two people are alike, and at this company we respect and encourage all points of view so that we provide value to employees, shareholders, customers and the community.”
This is the eighth consecutive year in which U.S. Bank has been recognized by the HRC as a Best Place to Work. U.S. Bank joins the ranks of 407 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks this year.
The 2016 CEI rated 1,024 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. U.S. Bank satisfied all of the CEI’s criteria to earn a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
