U-Haul is one of the “Best Companies for Work-Life Balance” in the U.S., according to a national survey published by Comparably.

Comparably.com, a site that solicits employee feedback for the purpose of portraying company cultures and employer brands, ranks U-Haul No. 8 among all large companies for providing employees the best work-life balance – a leading predictor of employee happiness.

U-Haul, headquartered in Phoenix since 1967, is the lone Arizona-based company on the top 25 list for large or small/midsize companies.

“From the flexibility of our work-from-home jobs to encouraging healthier lifestyles, our goal is to create an environment that allows Team Members to become the best version of themselves,” U-Haul Chief of Staff Jessica Lopez stated.

“We understand the importance that family time, a social life and good health can play in having a happy, energized and productive Team Member. It truly is a balance. Having U-Haul recognized by its Team Members as a leader in establishing that work-life balance is a credit to what we’re doing at a company that has been serving the public since 1945.”

Comparably’s lists for companies with the best work-life balance and the best perks and benefits were shared by Inc.com last week. Starbucks® ranked first for work-life balance in the large company category. Facebook® received top billing for perks and benefits.

Rankings were determined by online polls of visitors to Comparably.com.

“This set of Comparably Awards focuses on companies that most reward their employees,” said Jason Nazar, CEO of Comparably. “These employers stand out as the best of the best providing amazing benefits and great work-life balance to foster some of the happiest employees in the United States.”

U-Haul employs 30,733 Team Members across the U.S. and Canada, and 3,978 in Arizona.

About 5,000 Team Members participated on Sept. 22 in the third annual U-Haul Active Day, one of the Company’s many “Healthier U” programs and events created to improve employee wellness, happiness and productivity through healthier lifestyles.

U-Haul, which has been repeatedly honored as one of the Valley’s healthiest workplaces and most veteran-friendly employers, will soon be building a state-of-the-art conference and fitness center on its Midtown Phoenix campus for Team Member use.
