Grand Canyon West and the Grand Canyon Resort Corporation will mark the organization’s 30th anniversary as a successful, growing business and tourism entity on Saturday, April 28, 2018, with a mix of invited guests from the Hualapai Nation and the region. Together, the crowd will gather to celebrate 30 years of job creation and economic development for the Tribe and GCRC, which have become leading employers in northwestern Arizona.
“Grand Canyon West would like to thank the Hualapai Tribal Council, the Hualapai people and the more than 1 million guests who visit us annually for their support over the past 30 years,” said Elisa Bradley, Chairperson of the Grand Canyon Resort Corporation’s Board of Directors. “Thirty years in business is an amazing accomplishment. We are proud of the continued, sustained growth of Grand Canyon West as it develops new attractions, including the recently opened Zipline, and provides jobs and economic resources for the Hualapai people.”
The Grand Canyon Resort Corporation – established in 1988 and wholly owned by the Hualapai Tribe – operates Grand Canyon West, the Grand Canyon Skywalk, Hualapai River Runners, the Zipline at Grand Canyon West, the Hualapai Ranch, Sa’ Nyu Wa restaurant at the Skywalk, the Walapai Market and the Hualapai Lodge. The company’s tourism experiences have provided jobs and revenue for the Tribe and the surrounding region since the Tribe decided to open Grand Canyon West to the public 30 years ago.
Since 2015, Grand Canyon West venues have combined to attract more than 1 million visitors each year.
