The Scotch Library at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa will feature Glenmorangie, Ardbeg and Balvenie as it hosts the third annual Masters of Scotch Autumn Tasting Series. Whether a novice whisky drinker or long-standing Scotch enthusiast, the tasting series provides a fun and informative evening sampling Scotch whiskies in hour-long presentations led by Scotch experts.

The series begins with Clarke Boyer, Brand Ambassador of Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, who will be presenting a sampling of Glenmorangie whiskies, which are among the best-loved whiskies in Scotland.  It continues with James Chau, who will present a tasting of Ardbeg, which has been made on the small, remote Isle of Islay for more than 200 years. The series concludes with local whiskey connoisseur John Christie presenting Balvenie, one of the best known whiskies hailing from the Scottish Highlands.

The 2017 Autumn Schedule is:

• Oct. 12 featuring Glenmorangie

• Nov. 16 featuring Ardbeg

• Dec. 14 featuring Balvenie 

The Scotch Library Master Tastings each begin at 6:30 p.m. and are priced at $65 per person (excluding tax and gratuity). Reservations are required. For information or reservations, please call 480-624-1202.

Continuing its celebration of the important contributions that Scottish immigrants made to early Arizona, The Scotch Library at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa provides both aficionados and those new to Scotch with the opportunity to select from more than 250 different labels. Vintages in the Scotch Library range from 10-year old Scotch to Scotch that is more than 40 years old and are priced from $10 per serving to more than $1,000 per serving.

Assisting guests with selections are Scotch Library Ambassadors, who are experts in the area of single malt and blend whiskies from Scotland. Not only are the ambassadors passionate Scotch consumers themselves, but they have received extensive training to prepare for their role as ambassadors. As a part of its ongoing Scotch program, the Resort also hosts Friday evening tastings hosted by the Scotch Library’s own ambassadors.
