Paul Schmidt spent 16 years in internal medicine before realizing the traditional model wasn’t built for him. The pace was relentless, the visits too rushed, and the pressure to default to prescriptions left him increasingly frustrated.

So, he founded Body Vitality, a hybrid clinic that offers primary care, wellness, esthetics and weight-loss services. Where applicable, Body Vitality accepts health insurance, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, First Health (Aetna), UnitedHealthcare and Medicare. Other major payers are in the credentialing process.

“We’re habit stacking and trying to help build your best life, hence the name ‘Body Vitality.’ We want to be ‘vital’ as long as possible,” said Schmidt, a certified physician associate who also worked as an advanced practice provider director.

“The best ‘diet’ is the one you can stick to. I don’t want to put people on diets. I want to reprogram nutrition.”

Schmidt’s passion lies in “longevity medicine” — what he calls “health span.” “Health span is how long I can keep you living the life you want to live,” he said.

To do so, Schmidt and his staff, which includes a dietitian, stress small, incremental improvements, focusing on nutrition, exercise, stress and sleep. That means body‑composition scanning, continuous glucose monitoring for non‑diabetics, hormone optimization, joint injections, and soon, PRP and stem‑cell therapies.

Body Vitality also offers yoga‑based workshops and a membership model “built around savings and accountability rather than unused subscriptions.” The practice offers a no-obligation initial consult for general health, hormones, weight loss and health span focus. Medications and labs can be paid for through insurance or cash. “Extensive screenings are normally $3,000 if cash pay through competitors. Ours is available for $400.”

Body Vitality will offer its first monthly wellness workshop at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 5. The event will also introduce Glow by Body Vitality and services with VIP pricing and raffles. The menu includes hydrafacials, Tetra Pro CO2 laser treatments, and FDA-approved aesthetic injectables Botox, Jeuveau, Restylane and Evolysse.

“Traditional medicine has become churn‑and‑burn,” Schmidt said. “I don’t love reactive medicine. I want to build relationships and watch patients have success — and be part of it.”
