Buc-ee’s in Goodyear is slated to open at 6 a.m. Monday, June 22, a spokeswoman said in a brief email.

The 74,000-square-foot behemoth is Arizona’s first location, offering 120 fuel pumps, a quirky convenience store with fresh food, and its “world-famous clean restrooms” at the southeast corner of the I-10 and Bullard Avenue.

Opening celebrations in the past included a Keith Urban parking lot concert in Huntsville, Alabama.

Mayor Joe Pizzillo, the Goodyear City Council and City Manager Wynette Reed, joined Buc-ee’s executives, community members and other elected officials for the May 2025 groundbreaking.

The travel center is anticipated to attract high volumes of visitors, increasing visibility and drawing in complementary businesses such as restaurants, hotels and retail stores.

“Buc-ee’s is a destination, and 80% of its business comes from outside the city, which means it won’t take away from our existing businesses,” Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo said at the time. “Buc-ee’s will add to the city’s revenue that helps pay for police, fire and streets.”

Buc-ee’s fan favorites will be available — Texas-style barbecue, homemade fudge, “Beaver” Nuggets, jerky and pastries.

“We’re really excited about our first location in Arizona and we’re particularly pleased to be in Goodyear,” said Arch “Beaver” Aplin, Buc-ee’s co-founder and owner. “With the city’s business-friendly city council and its amazing employment opportunities, Goodyear is the perfect location for us.”

Founded in Texas in 1982, Buc-ee’s operates 51 U.S. stores. The Goodyear location will create more than 200 full-time jobs in the city. Buc-ee’s offers competitive pay well above minimum wage, full benefits, a 6% 401(k) match, and three weeks of paid vacation, according to a Buc-ee’s press release.

Buc-ee’s brings fresh smoked brisket, Beaver Nuggets, fudge and the “never-ending wall of jerky.”

The store will also partner with local vendors and artisans to represent the community.

The Arizona location includes 120 fueling stations for passenger vehicles only. The store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The company promises to bring more than 200 full-time jobs to the area with pay starting “well-above” minimum wage, plus benefits, 6% 401k matching and three weeks of paid vacation.
