eSports, which is competitive video gaming at a professional level, is emerging as one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. For many kids across the globe, video game consoles have replaced footballs and baseball bats as the stuff of childhood sporting memories.

Whether you’re a competitive gamer or not, Phoenicians will get nostalgic as they relive their favorite childhood videogames at the FREE eSports Showcase Desert Ridge Marketplace is hosting with Bravous Youth Sports League, Arizona’s first youth eSports association, on a massive LED display.

Saturday, March 2 from 11 am to 1 pm gamers will be able to play either Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Super Smash Bros. and participants in the competition will have practice time with professional coaches. The winner will receive notoriety and a prize from Desert Ridge Marketplace tenants.

This event is open to the public. Space is limited and guests can RSVP at shopdesertridge.com/event/esports. For more information on Bravous Youth Sports League, visit www.bravous.com.
