The world of women’s handbags is changing as we know it.
Tantrum Handbags, a start-up company based in Arizona, has taken the typical handbag and have created “fashionably functional” bags, featuring mini-compartments within the bag for everything that a woman could possibly carry in her purse. The bags have dedicated sections for writing utensils, receipts, an iPad, business cards, money-related items, cosmetics and much more. Tantrum Handbags even have a magnetic key fob so you never have to dig for your keys again. The bags are designed so everything you need to access is right at your fingertips.
“We believe this is the biggest advancement in the history of handbags,” says Jessica Marriott, CEO and designer of Tantrum Handbags. She says these are not only multipurpose bags, but they are also fashion-forward.
At the end of November, the Tantrum Handbags collection will be displayed at four Bloomingdale’s stores on the east coast. The show starts on Nov. 30 in New York City at Bloomingdale’s flagship store and then moves to Short Hills, N.J. on Dec. 1 and Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Dec. 7. The final stop will take place in Chevy Chase, D.C. on Dec. 8.
And, on Thursday, Nov. 8, Marriott announced a Tantrum Handbags contest with quite the prize. The six chosen winners will receive the innovative and stylish Tantrum bags for one decade. In order to be eligible for the prize, you must “like” Tantrum Handbags on Facebook, be a U.S. Citizen who is at least 20 years old, and register on its website. Four of the women selected must be present at one of the four Bloomingdale’s shows. However, one woman selected will be an Arizona resident, and the final woman selected will not live in any of the Bloomingdale’s show cities. The selection process is completely random.
