Scottsdale-based entrepreneur and designer, Adam Craft, has raised over $435,000 after innovating a new type of cocktail shaker. He launched the Elevated Craft Cocktail Shaker on the popular crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter.com, at the end of October and funded 775% of his $11,300 goal in just three days.
As someone who loves to create quality cocktails at home, Craft was disappointed with the current home mixology tools available on the market. His obsession to reinvent the standard cocktail shaker resulted in 18 months spent researching, prototyping and engineering, all while owning a full-service design and engineering firm and raising twins.
“I wanted a shaker that wouldn’t leak, felt good in my hand and was made from quality materials built to last,” Craft said. “I purchased dozens of shakers that claimed to be the best, and every single one of them fell short. That’s when I knew there was a problem and I became passionate about solving it.”
Made of stainless steel with double wall construction and leak-proof technology, the Elevated Craft Cocktail Shaker has received attention from home mixologists due to its unconventional features. Unlike traditional shakers, Craft’s shaker was designed to not leak, freeze closed, or leave messy condensation puddles. The shaker also has an integrated measuring top feature, can help you mix up to four drinks at a time, and it keeps beverages cold for over 24 hours.
“I’ve made a lot of drinks, I’ve used a lot of shakers, and none of them have lived up to the hype like the Elevated Craft Cocktail Shaker has,” said Sheldon Wiley, three-time Guinness World Record holding mixologist. “I know Adam put his heart into the design of the shaker, and I’m excited for more people to experience it for themselves.”
With one day left in his Kickstarter campaign, Craft is humbled by the support he has received and proud of the community he’s built of over 6,100 backers, many of whom are avid home mixologists. When the campaign ends, Craft plans to use the funds to launch his flagship product – the Elevated Craft Cocktail Shaker – and continue on his journey to launch a company that “designs and manufactures products that empower you to create unforgettable experiences.”
