Before backpacks, alarm clocks and packed calendars officially take over, Dirtbag’s Phoenix is firing up one last summer hang.

Dirtbag’s Phoenix will host its Back-to-School BBQ from 4 to close on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 4801 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix. The event brings together barbecue, cold drinks and live entertainment for an easygoing afternoon built around food, friends and one more round of summer fun.

“Back-to-school season gets busy quickly, so we wanted to give people a reason to get together, grab some food and enjoy one more relaxed afternoon before everyone falls back into their routines,” said Scott Hibler, owner of Dirtbag’s Phoenix. “It is simple, fun and exactly the kind of event Dirtbag’s was made for.”

The food-first event gives guests a chance to settle in over barbecue while enjoying the familiar Dirtbag’s lineup of burgers, wings, pizza, shareables and cold drinks. JT Soriano will perform from 4 to 7 p.m., adding live music to an afternoon designed for hanging out rather than hurrying home.

Event details: The Back-to-School BBQ takes place from 4 p.m. to close Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Dirtbag’s Phoenix, 4801 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix. 

Dirtbag’s favorites: Guests can round out the table with familiar favorites, including wings, pizza, burgers, chicken nachos, fried zucchini, fries, tots and other shareable bar bites.

Cold drinks: Beer, pitchers, buckets and other drink options.

Live Music: JT Soriano will perform from 4 to 7 p.m., giving the afternoon a live soundtrack from start to finish.

The Back-to-School BBQ arrives as Dirtbag’s Phoenix heads into its second year in the Valley with a newly remodeled space designed for bigger crowds, better game days and longer hangs. The updated location now features an entrance that opens directly into the bar, an indoor Jumbotron, more TVs, improved sightlines and a private room with couches and games.

“The best Dirtbag’s events are the ones where people come in for food or music and end up staying longer than they planned,” Hibler said. “That is the energy we want for this barbecue. No big production. Just good food, good people and a fun way to close out summer.”
