SUMMER FUN: 7 new and noteworthy Tempe restaurants to visit this summer

The seasonal menu was developed to reward year-round residents and celebrate the region’s culinary roots through bold, high-style dishes. Guests can select one dish from each of three curated courses.

“This menu was designed with our regulars in mind,” said Tom Kaufman, owner of Kaufman Hospitality. “Arizona summers can be brutal, and we wanted to offer something special for the people who continue to support us.”

Executive Chef Christopher George crafted the menu to reflect soulful, story-driven cuisine rooted in Latin flavors. The dishes blend classic techniques with modern presentation, showcasing locally inspired ingredients and bold textures.

Beginning Sept. 8, Elvira’s will expand dinner service to seven nights a week, from 5 to 10 p.m. Previously, the restaurant operated five nights per week.

“We took our time to get everything right,” Kaufman said. “Now, we’re ready to welcome guests every day with the same attention to detail—whether it’s a weekday unwind or a Saturday celebration.”

Elvira’s is known for its upscale interpretation of Mexican cuisine, set against a backdrop of jewel-toned interiors, candlelit ambiance and artistic flourishes. One recent diner described the experience as “upscale, artistic, and truly unique for Mexican cuisine in Scottsdale.”
