Held in Cave Creek, Wild West Days (WWD) is Arizona’s largest western event — and headlining the event is Gun Down by Sundown. Presented by Six Gun Entertainment, LLC, Gun Down by Sundown is a gunfight competition between various gunfighter groups from across the nation, including Arizona.
“More than 10,000 people attended WWD last year, and we expect that number to grow from the centennial year of the event to approximately 15,000,” says Fran Booth, ABC, Booth Communications Inc.
Hosted by the Cave Creek Chamber of Commerce, the 10th annual Wild West Days will donate a portion of the proceeds from the Gun Down by Sundown event to the Desert Foothills Community Foundation as well as to horse-related organizations within the community in an effort to preserve Western heritage. These organizations include the Cowpokes and Little Folks.
Cowpokes and Little Folks will be presenting an exciting new activity area for children and families. Activities include a shooting gallery, gold panning, storytelling, basic gunfighters stunts, old-time photos and scheduled shows by the Mojave Muleskinners and Detour Company Theatre.
“Wild West Days was created 10 years ago to preserve the community, and the state’s western heritage and it will be bigger and better than ever this year!” Booth says.
After the final shootout, a special centennial show will take place on the main stage near Frontier Town.
No matter your age, don’t miss out on these live performances of the Wild West gunslingers. But watch out — this family-fun event could quickly become an annual family outing!
