9/24: James Joyce’s Dubliners: Still Engaging Readers and Writers 100 Years After Publication

The Irish Cultural Center’s McClelland Irish Library is hosting a series of events from Sept. 24 to Nov. 8 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of James Joyce’s novel “Dubliners.” The celebration of the groundbreaking collection of short stories and its long-lasting success will be talked about by Irish-born poet Adrienne Leavy.

9/26-28: Damon Wayans

The comedian and actor, best known for his role on the sitcom “My Wife and Kids,” is bringing his stand-up to Tempe Improv. Wayans has been touring and doing stand-up since 1982.

9/26-27: Fountain Hills Oktoberfest

The family-friendly Oktoberfest celebration features German music, food, contests and, of course, plenty of beer. The celebration is held in Fountain Park, and visitors are encouraged to come in German costumes and features events such as a beer stein holding competition.
