Grammy Award-winning rock band Linkin Park will headline the 5th annual Stars of the Season fundraising soirée for Banner Children’s at Cardon Children’s Medical Center on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia in Paradise Valley, Ariz. On the heels of the band’s sixth studio album release, The Hunting Party, and the North American The Carnivores Tour, Linkin Park will deliver a special performance for Stars of the Season guests to raise funds for pediatric oncology and establish integrative cancer care at Cardon Children’s Medical Center.
Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has been involved with Stars of the Season since its debut in 2010. Co-chairing this year’s event alongside friend David Curran, MD, a pediatrician in the East Valley and immediate past chairman of the department of Pediatric Medicine at Cardon Children’s, Bennington once again leveraged his industry influence to secure Linkin Park, yet another multi-platinum band performing in support of pediatric health care.
Stars of the Season’s reputation for attracting the biggest names in music also enabled the Advisory Council of Cardon Children’s Medical Center, the planning committee behind the highly successful event, to land Ted Stryker, drive-time DJ on The World Famous KROQ in Los Angeles, as emcee for the third straight year. Stryker’s theatrical entrances, emotional connections to the children whose lives are impacted by proceeds from Stars of the Season, and ability to engage guests and launch live auction bidding wars have made him an instrumental part of the annual fundraising affair.
To keep the event going into the wee hours of the morning, DJ Jen Jones will deliver explosive electronic dance beats during a private after-party at CENTRO, a trendy lounge bar located in the center of the Montelucia property. The venue’s sophisticated atmosphere coupled with Jones’ superior mixing skills will ensure the perfect ending to an otherwise unforgettable evening.
