The Indoor Football League (IFL) announced today the Arizona Rattlers 14-game schedule for the 2020 season.
The Rattlers will begin the season on a two-game road trip, where they will face Quad City Steamwheelers on Saturday, March 21, followed by a trip to California to take on newly added Oakland Panthers. Arizona’s first home game will be against their in-state rival, the Tucson Sugar Skulls, on Sunday, April 5 at 3:05 p.m. at the Gila River Arena.
The Rattlers will also face both the 2018 and 2019 United Bowl Champions on the road this season. First, the Iowa Barnstormers on Saturday, April 11, and then the Sioux Falls Storm on Sunday, April 26.
Other notable games for the 2020 season include a home game against their former rivals, the Spokane Shock, on Saturday, May 2, along with the Rattlers taking on the former Champions Indoor Football (CIF) champions, the Duke City Gladiators twice with the Gladiators first trip to Arizona on Saturday, June 27. They will also have a home-and-home series against the Sugar Skulls, traveling to Tucson on Saturday, May 9, and returning to Phoenix on May 16.
With the league expanding to thirteen teams this season, the IFL will now feature eight teams for the 2020 IFL playoffs. The first round will be played on the July 4 weekend, and the second round will take place during the weekend of July 11. United Bowl weekend will be July 25.
