Backed by the belief in the power of women, Fashion Nova, a leading fast-fashion brand, recently launched a philanthropic initiative dubbed ‘Women on Top’ in honor of March, historically known as women’s month.

Through this initiative, Tia Adeola, an independent, upcoming female fashion designer and the founder of her namesake brand, Tia Adeola received a donation of $25K. Fashion Nova made this donation to support her passion and dedication towards bringing her authentic high-end fashion work to life.

Tia earns her fame from her unique designs that utilize pearls, sheer materials, feathers, and ruffles to make luxury pieces, evoking the pure romance of a Renaissance painting. Fashion Nova recognized Tia’s creativity and passion and chose to finance her efforts.

The Women on Top initiative was a combined effort between Fashion Nova and a popular American rapper, Megan Thee Stallion. The duo raised $1M total donations to distribute to different women-led and female-focused institutions and organizations, including women entrepreneurs like Tia Adeola doing exemplary work in their various fields.

Each of the preselected recipients was awarded $25K or more in the form of scholarships, donations, and grants from the rich donation basket.

Fashion Nova made this donation to Tia Adeola public through a post on the Fashion Nova Cares official Instagram handle that read, “Teniola “Tia” Adeola is the founder and designer of @tiaadeola. Tia started her brand as a college student in New York City and soon amassed a diverse and passionate fanbase, including women like Gigi Hadid and SZA. Her brand’s place in the luxury fashion space was solidified with the breakout success of her runway show at NYFW in Fall 2019. Tia’s designs utilize sheer materials, pearls, feathers, and ruffles to evoke the pure romance of a Renaissance painting. Check out her elegant and decadent designs at tiaadeola.com .”

This support to Tia Adeola comes among other multiple donations extended to various independent fashion designers in appreciation and support of their unique work in the fashion industry. Other indie fashion designers who benefited through the Women on Top initiative include Tizita Balemlay, Alani Taylor, and Ellaé Lisqué.

Since its launch in 2006, Fashion Nova has managed to transform the fashion industry through quality and affordable, fast-fashion pieces for all. And in line with this transformation, this reputable brand seeks to support other upcoming designers following the same suit, and this explains the generous donation to Tia Adeola and other emerging female designers.

Fashion Nova ran this philanthropic initiative under the Fashion Nova Cares program, a non-profit branch of Fashion Nova that had previously seen the success of other community-based initiatives such as the Black Lives Matter donations and the Covid 19 relief fund project.

Fashion Nova Cares was launched in April 2020 to oversee the success of the Covid 19  relief fund project set to help the minority members of the community adversely affected by Covid 19. However, Fashion Nova intended to use this program to run subsequent philanthropic initiatives, as evident through a statement made by Richard Saghian, the founder and CEO of Fashion Nova, where he said, “Our Fashion Nova Cares initiative will continue beyond the current challenges of Covid-19 with additional endeavors and programs that will further help make a positive impact in people’s lives.”

And true to Saghian’s words, this program has successfully run multiple activism and awareness campaigns that have put Fashion Nova at the front line when it comes to giving back to the community.

Fashion Nova’s chain of philanthropic initiatives has set the bar high for other fashion houses.
